Early 2000s
Japan
A rare sheer blouse from Tao Comme des Garçons, constructed in lightweight cotton voile and printed with a collage of watercolor florals, butterfly motifs, and softly blurred botanicals. A classic button-front silhouette is transformed through dramatic layered pleated oversleeves that can be worn lifted for sculptural volume or allowed to drape fluidly around the body, creating movement and dimensionality. Ethereal, experimental, and texturally intricate, the piece reflects Tao Kurihara’s distinctive blend of delicacy, romance, and sculptural construction.
